There is something enticing about those glossy pages. Something that makes the adrenaline rush when you see a new magazine come. Well, at least for me when I get my new issue of Elle I get really excited and pretty much drop everything to read it. Kind of lame, but there is just some kind of amazing that comes with the magazine. Even though the ads may sometimes be overbearing it is still interesting to look at what is new in the market and what is going on in places other than where you are.
Some magazines may be phased out by the whole electronic, easy-accessibility thing, but I believe magazines will bust it make it through easier than we think. We learned in class how Life and Look magazines lost so much of their readership once televis
ion came out, Look went out of business but Life is still up and running! I know my parents have a subscription to Life and even I, a college student, think it is interesting to read. If one of these magazines survived the amazing TV craze of 1956 there may be a possibility that it can survive anything. It seems as if there are always being new ways invented to reach people. Which can be good and bad. The more informed the world
is the better off we are. Magazines are a part of that. They may be biased and extremely limited in what information they supply, but it's information all the same.In short, I don't think the electronic media will phase out magazines as quickly as we think.
