Being from Detroit I figure I have a little bit of a say when it comes to cars. Being an advertising major I figure I have a little bit of say when it comes to ads. Now watch this:
Now I will critique, I established my credibility and therefore can't be punished for it. I, personally, think the design of the car is ugly. It looks like they tried to smash two halfs of two circles and then tried to connect them with the body of the car. The shape of the car is essentially beautiful, but not for a car, just for a shape.
Also, the name Juke? Honestly? That doesn't make any sense when paired with the commercial. The only thing that comes to mind is the Verizon Juke phone and those silly commercials with people dancing. That definitely does not give off the vibe that the commercial is giving off. It does not say, "This car will take me where I need to go, in style, and in comfort" like the commercial implies, instead it says, "This car is crazy fun and makes me appear hip, when in reality, I am not."
Nissan and TBWA/Toronto, please don't hate me for critiquing, but I really don't foresee this car boding well in the market.
