Of everything I love, food is probably at the top of my list. In one week I'm headed out to California and I can't help but thinking about food! These places and things occupy my mind the most:
1) Roadside fruit stands on the way to Oxnard. Those strawberries are supreme.
2) BJ's. Why are their pazookies better than anything you can make at home?
3) Islands. Not many people have heard of this restaurant but their kids meal (chicken tenders and fries) is supreme!
4) Pei Wei. Recently we got one in Michigan, I tried my very best to convinse my parents to go there after an outing to the Henry Ford Museum. It was a monumental fail.
5) Pick Up Stix. Another Chinese restaurant - but they have awesome crab cakes (or something with crab in it..)
6) Claim Jumper. For some reason the diet coke at this restaurant is just amazing.
7) Rubys. The restaurant at the end of the pier in Huntington Beach. The food isn't amazing, but the fact that the restaurant is literally sitting out in the ocean makes it worth it.
8) WoodRanch. Yummy yummy mashed potatos!
9) Coco's. Their bran muffins and eggs are just the best.
10) Mrs. Olson's. This restaurant is a house turned restaurant down the street from the beachhouse. Everything about this place is fantastic, the people, the food, the location, the ambience, etc.
I don't know how to end this post all witty and funny, so I'll just end it with the fact that I've recently decided to implement the word lovely periodically into my conversation.

Okay, Lacey, my mouth is totally watering!! I'm glad I'm not the only one for whom the food where I'm going factors prominently in my anticipation of the visit!
