Probably the coolest vendie I've ever seen.
It had everything from water to whole boxes of cookies
On the train to Paris, Amanda and I bought cheese/salami/bread.
We felt very parisian!
So we arrived in Paris and we were stoked. But we spent like an hour in the train station trying to find where we could purchase our ticket up to Geneva. AND THEN we had to find where we needed to go to find the city lines. In the meantime, we were looking at this escalator and this guy with an EXTREME unibrow goes "ZIS IS NOT ZEE WAY!! BUT DON'T WORREE, ZERE IS ANUZER WAY!!" This was intense. He had a super thick french accent, and he jumped off the escalator and flailed his arms out and said this while smiling. It was rather interesting.
Once we found the circle line to Republique we ventured to our Hostel: Absolute Paris. This was our first hostel, we were interested to see how it went. It was suprisingly nice, especially since Elisa, Amanda, Liz, and I all filled one room. We had no extra roommates and we had our own bathroom.

We tried to go to the Louvre on Friday since it was free for anyone 18-26, but we got there like 10 minutes too late. :( But we had fun taking pictures anways!
Liz and I with the Louvre sign.
I thought this was cool. They look scary but they kind of lined up.
Since the Louvre was closed we decided to walk to the Eiffel Tower. It was a looong walk so we decided to have some adventures on the way. Or maybe I just took a bunch of pictures. You choose.

No adults walking with children!!
I found these on the way to the tower. How sad.
Typical picture.
First glimpse of the tower. My favorite picture. It looks like its 'peeking' on the side of the building.
Of course, me and the tower.
So after we saw the tower from this angle, we decided to actually go TO the tower. We stood beneath is when the lights started flashing at 11pm. It was CRAZY.
After this we went back to the hostel and slept with towels, since the blankets they gave us were nasttttyyyy. But we woke up the next day ready for our adventures!!
We decided to go to the Arc du Triomphe and walk down the Champs Elysees! It was a lot of fun. It was a relatively nice day too. A little overcast so it wasn't hot or anything.

Great pic, right?
Pretty much the theme of the trip was how I'm a loser. Somehow, I always ended up by myself. Whether it was on the train, sitting on a park bench, crossing the street first, etc. This is just one example.
Anywho, we decided to have a legit parisian meal! It was ... uhh .... okay. I mean apparently you have to get used to French cuisine. I am accustomed to the typical stuff, but NEVER order a steak. Sick. It was sick. Icky sicky sick. And of course they get offended if you don't finish it, but mine was pretty much still mooing. It was nast. It looked pretty though!
In France it's not called French Onion. Just Onion soup. Derr.
This was the nasty steak. That crap on top of it was gross too. ICKY. And of course they don't have A1 in France, or I would have been in heaven. Yuck.
This was supreme. I ate it ALL.
Merr. After this we went to a bunch of places. Like the Saint Chappelle, Notre Dame, and Montmarte (Sacre Couer). The steps that lead up to the Sacre Couer are those that in the movie Moulin Rouge the one guy sings about... "la complainte de la butte". Yeah THOSE ARE THEM.
Saint Chappelle is ridiculously BEAUTIFUL. Lots of stained glass.
I am so small.
Love those flying buttresses on Notre Dame!
Well that was day 1 and day 2. I should probably go to work or something so I'll finish day 3 in Paris later. Au revoir! My absolute favorite tube stop in PARIS.
Those indian women are Amanda and Liz.

Wowee, sister! Those are some may-jor adventures! It's fun to read about all the cool stuff you did; I'll live vicariously through you, k? I don't know if I'll go back and read about the rest of your trip because it seems like maybe a daunting task, but I'll definitely keep reading your posts from now on! Love your guts! And your face! And your baby gifts! :)
